Qoya is based on the idea, that through movement we remember our true essence… We remember that we are wild, wise + free.
In Qoya, we go on the longest journey – the six inches from your head into your heart. Qoya allows you to slow down, feel more and connect with your true, authentic self. We do this through yoga, free movement and dance.
Qoya is movement with meaning. It is unique and unlike any other movement class you will have ever done before. It is based on the idea that through movement, we remember our true essence as wise, wild and free. These magnificent words also reference the types of movement we do in a Qoya class:
Wise draws on the ancient wisdom of yoga, breathwork and meditation + connects us to our own inner wisdom.
Wild is the kind of dance we do in a Qoya class – the kind of movement that takes over your body when an amazing song comes on and you cannot help but dance the way your body wants to move!
Free is the feminine, sensual movement we do in class – what feels good and true in your body.
In Qoya, we focus less on how it looks and more on how it feels. There's no beginner, intermediate or advanced levels because there's just one level and that is when it feels good, you know you're doing it right. Qoya encourages a shift from seeking external validation to reclaiming the innate ability to move the way that you want to move.

The Music
Each class has a specially chosen theme and a unique playlist to embody it.
The soundtrack for each class is crafted to embody the theme. One of the most incredible gifts of Qoya is how it reminds you of the beauty and power of music and how it literally can change your mindset. In any class you might find yourself moving to whispering yoga mantras, pop classics, seductive feminine hip openers and dance floor bangers. Each soundtrack is bespoke + created with the theme, location, season + moon stage in mind.
The Class
Each class has the following core components and a unique theme:
The teacher prepares for class with her own rituals to create sacred space.
The class theme is introduced, and everyone is invited to pull an oracle card for guidance.
Breathing to integrate mind, body, and spirit into the present moment and intention setting to initiate a co-creative relationship with the divine.
CIRCLING HEAD, HEART + HIPS
Circle through each part of the body to release tension or rigidity, and begin to shift the focus from how it looks to how it feels.
Heart Opening to connect to the the rhythm of the music and the rhythm of your own heart, and begin the longest journey we ever take - six inches from the head to the heart.
Hip Opening through sensual movement to release shame and shyness and replace it with bold revelling in pleasure.
YOGA AS PRAYER, SHADOW + SHAKE
Sun Salutations/Dancing Warrior Sequence to access the gifts of yoga by experiencing movement as prayer and bringing our awareness of mind, body, spirit, and energetics into alignment.
Shadow Dance to honor the challenges in our lives and dance with them rather than pretending that they are not there.
Shaking each part of the body to intentionally release what no longer serves us and reclaim our vibrant nature and zing!
FREE DANCE + CONNECTION
Choreographed Dance to create more mind/body connection and to have fun!
Free Dance to move into our full authentic creative expression and feel our spirit/soul embodied and dancing.
Community Connection to use language to anchor any healing or epiphanies and also be a witness to another woman as she shares.
Final strengthening, stretching and relaxation to integrate all the benefits of class.
Unique Qoya Sessions, tailored just for you– If you would like to organise a Girl’s Night, or daytime get together with a difference so that you have a huge amount of fun and connect with your favourite females at a Soul Level - then why not book a Tailored Qoya Party? Perfect for Girl’s Nights, Birthday Celebrations, Hen Do’s and more. The choice is yours: You give me 3 of your favourite tracks that I will weave into the playlist and you choose a theme that feels good for you. I will assist and inspire you however you need. Then I will come to whatever space we agree on and hold the space for a 90 minute session where you will bond with your girlfriends and feel united in Sisterhood! £12pp and minimum 5 people per session. This price doesn’t include venue hire - I can suggest a venue and, depending on numbers, can easily adapt the class to suit your own home. Once booking is confirmed,

Frequently asked questions..
Can anyone do it?
Qoya is an accessible practice for all bodies. The muscle that gets activated in qoya the most is that of being able to listen to your body and moving it how it is calling to be moved that day. Qoya is adaptable and suitable to people with chronic pain and all mobility levels.
What should I wear?
Layers & comfortable gym/yoga gear.
Do I need to bring anything?
You don't need to bring anything but a bottle of water and a journal and pen may be useful. I have spare yoga mats but if you prefer to use your own, please feel free to bring.
Where are the classes and is there parking?
Classes are held at Parkstone Yacht Club, Pearce Avenue, BH14 8EH + The Yoga Studio 1, 83 Ringwood Rd, BH14 0RH.
There’s plenty of parking at the venue.
Do you need any experience?
No absolutely not!
Is it embarrassing ?
Honestly, the feeling of freedom is so liberating… embarrassed? Only that you left it so long to try it!
